Coming into college is scary. Especially when you feel like you need to have your whole life planned out when you don't. I actually thought I knew what I wanted to do with myself. Since middle school, I wanted to work in the medical field. Of course I changed my mind a couple times with different professions but I have always wanted to work in a hospital. Entering college, I came majoring in Biology on the Physician's Assistant track. My schedule consisted of all science classes. As weeks went by, I realized that I was not enjoying myself. I wasn't interested in what I was learning about at all. All my friends were excited to talk about what they were doing in class when I dreaded even going to class. That's when I knew I actually didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. I realized I must not be in the right major. I started really thinking about what I would enjoy doing. I want to be happy waking up everyday to go to work. I knew I also had a passion for teaching. I went to my success coach and he had me tell him everything I enjoyed doing. He told me he thinks I should major in Elementary Education. I never thought I would ever leave the medical field but I did. I am so interested in education and the teaching aspect and I think the decision of switching my major is one of the biggest but best decisions I have made in my life so far.
